Player Name/Handle: Monica
Canon Name: Project Sekai
Name: Touya Aoyagi
Age: probably 16
Canon Point: after Period of Nocturne
Canon Information: Wiki link. This is a pretty barebones article, so I'll give a brief summary of personality in particular. Touya comes off as very stoic most of the time, as he was undersocialized as a child due to his strict education and little opportunity to learn how to express himself. In reality he enjoys friends and hanging out with them, just he doesn't have many of them. He is a bit of a gullible airhead, and is not as self-conscious as other characters are of how they come off. He shows a deep desire to support others, and his initial major conflict in the story is him believing it is for the best for him to break ties with his partner Akito, because he worries his motivations for performing with Akito are too selfish. Other events also indicate he has relatively low self-esteem.

Q1: You've been stranded on a desert island with only one standard-size travel suitcase. If you could only have 3 items in that suitcase, what would you want those items to be and why?
That's a difficult question. The practical thing to do would be to ensure survival, but I don't really have the knowledge of what that would require. A small collapsible tent should fit, right? Then, maybe... a multi-tool, if that's not cheating. Oh, I know. They make books on this subject all the time. My last item will be a book about how to survive with no supplies, so I should be covered.
Q2: Tell us about a defining event in your life that you think influenced who you are today.
There are a few things that happened in sequence that are all part of the same defining series of events. But the turning point was when I quit classical music in middle school. Up until that point, I'd been studying it every day, ever since I was very young. According to my family, that should have been my whole life trajectory. So of course my current self is completely different from what was planned.
Q3: What does family mean to you and who do you consider a part of your family?
...You might have gathered, but my relationship with my family isn't the best. They're not happy with anything I do these days. I fight with my father constantly. But I would still consider that what my family is. I still live with them, and I want them to recognize and accept who I am. The people who recognize me and accept me are my friends and colleagues. They define my future. But... my family still defines my past.
Q4: Tell me about a time you were involved in a personal conflict (not a physical fight). What would you do differently to resolve it?
Hm... I got in a big fight with my partner Akito, before. But as for what I would do differently... The fight was my fault. It won't happen again, but only because I know better now. I think it's embarrassing that I needed to act that way in order to learn, but... Well, hypothetically, if I had learned some other way without being so provocative, then I would have resolved the fight before it began. That's all.
[Touya doesn't quite realize that he never explained the nature of the fight in that answer, but it's private enough that he wouldn't think to go into it in any depth. That he felt a sudden sense of impostor syndrome as Akito's partner, and thought it was for the best for him to preemptively quit in order to give Akito the chance to find someone else. The decision had made Touya absolutely miserable. Of course it had been a relief to take it back. But, if the fight had never happened, he would have kept that insecurity bottled up without receiving the reassurance.]
Q5: Do you have any regrets? If so, what are the biggest ones? If not, what is something you wish you had gotten to do back home?
I think... I'm young enough that it's not too late for any of my regrets. For example, I regret not participating in school events, but now I still have the opportunity to do so. ...Though, the world ending is a little overwhelming, so I don't think I can take that into consideration yet. If we aren't able to recover the world, then that's when I'll have nothing but regrets for the life I was supposed to be living. I have to believe that it won't come to that... So, sorry for such a lukewarm answer.
